0>1 Lab

0>1 Lab is an entrepreneurial journey developed and managed by OTTOZEROUNO, in collaboration with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Milano, as part of the Polimi Innovators initiative and offered through the Passion in Action program.

Inspired by OTTOZEROUNO’s THALEA LAB methodology, 0>1 Lab aims to bridge the gap between academic research and the market, enabling students from different disciplines to explore the entrepreneurial potential of innovative technologies developed in Politecnico di Milano’s laboratories.

Through a hands-on, interdisciplinary approach, participants work on research-based technologies to identify real-world problems, investigate potential applications, explore market opportunities, and develop ideas into possible entrepreneurial initiatives. By engaging with researchers, mentors, and fellow students, they learn to connect scientific knowledge with market needs and to build teams capable of transforming research results into new opportunities.

0>1 Lab promotes an entrepreneurial mindset grounded in experimentation, collaboration, and learning by doing. No pre-existing business idea is required: curiosity, openness to different perspectives, and the willingness to explore and build together are the starting points.

The ultimate goal is to help participants discover how research can generate innovation and societal value, taking the first steps from a scientific result towards a potential project, business opportunity, or entrepreneurial venture.
