The procedure and contents of the admission test for Laurea and single-cycle Master of Science programmes for the specific discipline of architect are governed by Italian Ministerial Decree n. 706 of 04.05.2026.

There is a compulsory admission test (called 'ARCHED test') for the Bachelor of Science programme in Architectural Design and the single-cycle Master of Science programme in Building Engineering-Architecture at Politecnico di Milano.

The places available on each study programme will be allocated according to the test results and the preferences stated by the applicants (the number of places available is fixed each year).

Some rules differ according to the type of student envisaged, ie Italian and equivalent students or international students (reserved places); there are specific rules for students with  foreign qualifications (Click here to find out more ).

Knowledge of Italian for non-EU students interested in courses taught in Italian
 

If you are a Non-EU students residing abroad interested in programmes taught in Italian must provide an Italian language certificate of at least level B2 of the CLIQ (Quality Italian Language Certification), to be sent to the International Students Office (contacts) no later than 5 July 2026.

You have two options to demonstrate your knowledge of the Italian language:

• submit a certificate of Italian language proficiency at least at CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) level B2, to be sent to the International Students Office (contact details) no later than 5 July 2026.

or

• take a language test organized through Cisia (Interuniversity Consortium for Integrated Systems for Access) which will take place remotely on 14 July 2026.
  Only those who have successfully completed their registration by 23:59:59 on 5 July 2026 will be admitted to this examination. 
  The test pass mark is a proficiency level of B2 or above.
