Electrical Engineering

The PhD programme in Electrical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano provides advanced training and scientific expertise in a key industrial sector. It also offers complementary educational activities designed to develop soft and transferable skills alongside multidisciplinary, high-level technical knowledge. The programme offers interdisciplinary research across all fields of electrical engineering, from electric power systems and electrical machines, drives and automation to basic electromagnetics, electric measurements and signal processing. The programme prepares graduates for academic careers and leadership roles in R&D, innovation and design, targeting employment in high-tech companies, research organisations, SMEs and public institutions. Research is carried out under the guidance of the research groups in the Department of Energy (DENG) and the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), where PhD students are based.
