Take on the role of a startupper

An immersive experience to simulate the creation and organisation of a startup

Startup First Experience

Initiative

If you are a student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme in Engineering, Architecture or Design and would like to gain practical insight into the world of startups, Startup First Experience may be the right initiative for you.

Startup First Experience is an introductory experience designed to offer a first direct contact with the world of startups: a one-day business simulation that allows students to step into the shoes of a startupper for a day, within a dynamic and realistic context.

About Startup First Experience

Startup First Experience is an event that allows students to simulate, in groups, the creation and growth of a startup.

The initiative takes place over the course of one day and is structured as a real simulation, during which students become part of multidisciplinary teams to work on the launch of a hypothetical startup.

What the programme offers

During the simulation, the multidisciplinary student teams work on developing a hypothetical startup, tackling the first strategic decisions, including:

  • product development
  • market strategy
  • resource management
  • team management
  • responding to unforeseen events and other dynamics typical of the startup environment

Each student is called upon to make an active contribution to the simulation, bringing decision-making and negotiation skills into play to guide the team’s choices.

Who Startup First Experience is for

The programme is open to students at Politecnico di Milano enrolled in Bachelor of Science programmes in Engineering, Architecture and Design, who are eager to challenge themselves and gain concrete exposure to the startup world.

Startup First Experience is an opportunity to experience first-hand what it means to launch a startup, exploring its dynamics, challenges and decision-making processes within a realistic simulation setting.
