Descrizione dell'iniziativa
Students will design and implement control strategies to minimize the energy consumption of electric vehicles. Each team will be assigned a custom-built, scaled electric vehicle equipped with an industrial-grade microcontroller and a basic firmware, programmable via a Simulink block diagram. The provided firmware allows control of the vehicle’s peripherals and traction system but does not include any energy optimization. Brief lectures will provide students with foundational knowledge on electric motors, electric drives, and microcontroller programming with Simulink. Teams will be free to modify the basic control algorithm to implement their energy optimization strategies and perform the necessary tests on their vehicles. During the laboratory sessions, tutors will be available to assist groups with implementation challenges, no assistance will be given for the conceptualization of the control algorithms. The effectiveness of the developed strategies will be evaluated during a final endurance race, in which each team will compete with its own vehicle. The team that covers the greatest distance within a given time limit will win.
Periodo di svolgimento
dal March 2026 a May 2026
Calendario
The laboratory sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 16:00 to 19:30. The final calendar will be shared according to external factors and final planning.
