An initiative born in 2020 within the NoLo Off Campus, to collect donations to be converted into weekly food supplies for local people and families in need.
"Zero Waste" and the Milan Food Hub
"Zero Sprechi" [Zero Waste] is a memorandum of understanding with the City of Milan to reduce food waste and implement a new method for recovering and redistributing surplus food, allowing it to then be donated to people in need. This gave rise to the first district Food Hub in Milan.
TRENDS IN FOOD INDUSTRY LAB
The course aims at providing students notions regarding a set of key trends in the food supply chain, and at introducing students to technical and managerial tools to analyse the complex food ecosystem and to confront with practical challenges faced by different players of the food system. The course analyses trends and challenges connected to the sustainable development of the food industry through the lens of the framework of the SDGs.

SIVEQ
The objective of the SIVEQ project is to use emerging technologies for the collection (5G, NB-IoT) and processing (Big Data Analytics) of surplus food data from supermarkets and to develop a collection process that minimises waste. The ultimate goal of the project is to build a software and hardware platform for optimising the process of recovery and distribution of surplus food to charities that is low cost, replicable and adaptable to a wide range of contexts.

INTERNET OF PLANTS
The aim of the project is to create a virtual model of each plant in a crop and monitor its health status through various sensors. Ultimately, the researchers wish to make it possible to carry out localised interventions in the event of disease or stress, thus reducing non-targeted interventions and the consequent waste of water and nutrients, whilst also minimising the use of pesticides. The long-term goal is to achieve sustainable agriculture through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies.

SURPLUS FOOD RECOVERY AND REDISTRIBUTION
This project deals with the recovery of surplus food generated by actors in the food supply chain and its redistribution to underprivileged people through cross-sector partnerships (e.g. business donors, food banks and NPOs, local governments).
