Gender equality
One of the Politecnico di Milano’s strategic objectives is to encourage more and more female students to take up STEM subjects - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - and we support gender equality within our community during students' time at the university, upon entry into the world of work and among our teaching and technical and administrative staff. In fact, we believe that equal gender representation in all sectors is fundamental not only within educational and professional spheres, but also to create a truly sustainable economy and society. Gender equality is one of the lines of action in the university's strategic plan of Equal Opportunities Policies (Pari Opportunità Politecniche - POP).
Multiculturalism
The university promotes the integration of different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds and religions by offering dedicated support to students and international visitors who choose the Politecnico di Milano, in order to create an increasingly inclusive and welcoming university, offering the best possible study and life experience. Multiculturalism is one of the lines of action of the 'POP' Strategic Plan.
Disabilities and SpLD
The university guarantees students with Disability and Learning Disabilities the right to education and training to enable them to get the most out of their academic experience. The support and inclusion of students with disabilities and SpLD is one of the lines of action of the 'POP' Strategic Plan.
Parental support
The university promotes the balance between family and professional responsibilities and the improved sharing of these responsibilities between parents through actions aimed at reconciling and balancing life, work and study. Parental support is one of the projects implemented through the 'POP' Strategic Plan.
LGBT+
The university promotes the inclusion of LGBTI+ people in university life through support, training and counselling policies and initiatives. The support and inclusion of LGBTI+ students is one of the lines of action of the 'POP' Strategic Plan.
Protection against discrimination
The Politecnico di Milano strives to prevent and combat any kind of discrimination, whether direct or indirect, and therefore any provision, criterion, practice, act, agreement or behaviour that generates prejudice, discriminating against people on the basis of their gender, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or belief, personal or political convictions, abilities, social conditions and age. To do so, it has adopted ad hoc legislation and a series of measures to protect its entire community.
