Politecnico di Milano is the scientific partner of Wired Next Fest

The Rector and numerous professors will be speakers at the Festival

For the first time this year, Politecnico di Milano is the scientific partner of Wired Next Fest, Italy's largest free-to-attend event on innovation and digital technologies, scheduled for 14, 15 and 16 June at Castello Sforzesco in Milan.

Through talks, exhibitions, masterclasses, workshops, laboratories, gaming spaces and meetings, we will reflect on what is ESSENTIAL today. It will be an opportunity to understand how, through the lens of technology and innovation, it is possible to develop the critical capacity needed to better understand the complexity of today's world. Politecnico di Milano, thanks to the involvement of its professors on stage and an exhibit area dedicated to showcasing the university's most cutting-edge research projects, will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of new technologies - such as artificial intelligence - on society.

Speakers at the festival will include numerous faculty members from Politecnico, starting with Rector Donatella Sciuto, one of the most significant voices in the field of innovation and digital technologies.

Other speakers will include Pro-rector and Professor in Strategy & Marketing Giuliano Noci, on the topic of microchips; Mario Calderini, Professor in Impact and Sustainability Management at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, on sustainable finance topics; Professor in Musical Acoustics Fabio Antonacci, who will investigate the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and music; Giovanni Miragliotta, Professor in Industrial Plants and Advanced Supply Chain Planning; Daniele Villa, Professor in Introduction to Visual Thinking and Urban Design and Representation, who will be involved in a panel on the transformation of cities; Mario Motta, Professor in Environmental Physics; Sergio Savaresi, Head of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering and Professor in Automation, who will recount the experience of the self-driving car that took part in the Mille Miglia; Professor in Architecture and Design for Space Annalisa Dominoni, who will talk about her plans for permanent settlements on the Moon.

The Politecnico di Milano stand will be animated by an exhibit area in which some research projects carried out in the university laboratories will be shown to the public and by an area dedicated to in-depth talks on the technologies on display.
