English language courses

The University organises English beginner or advanced courses for its students on all of its Campuses.

On the Campuses in Milan, the courses, called English PLUS, take place both in the 1st and in the 2nd semester and involve a placement test for which you can subscribe through the "Language courses catalogue" section of the Online Services (this section is only active during registration).

Students from the regional campuses may avail of English language courses organised directly by their Campus. As the courses may vary greatly from location to location, for detailed information please refer to the websites of each Campus.

Other foreign languages courses

Politecnico di Milano offers extra-curricular foreign language courses for its students, teaching staff and technical-administrative staff.

In particular, it organizes during the I and the II semester courses of:

  • Chinese
  • Russian
  • German

During the II semester it also offers courses of:

  • French
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish

All courses are basic level. Classes are held twice a week. The tuition fee is € 100.

Students can ask to organize courses taking place in other campuses – in addition to Milano Leonardo and Bovisa – and/or other languages not listed above by writing an email to: linguestraniere(at) 

Italian language courses for international students

Politecnico di Milano offers Italian language courses to its regularly enrolled international students (exchange or degree courses).

For each course there is a tuition fee which amounts to 100 € to be paid by the attendees.

Leonardo and Bovisa Campuses

Language courses are organized in Leonardo and Bovisa Campuses in both semesters. Various levels are offered: beginners, elementary and pre-intermediate. Courses are made up of 40 hours. Classes are held two times a week (usually late in the afternoon).

In order to attend the courses, students must register through the private page of the Online Services. Registration usually opens one or two weeks before the start of the semester.

Italian language courses for international students are also organized in Lecco, Mantova and Piacenza campuses.
