Description of the initiative
The Summer School was born from an initiative of the teachers of "Topography and data analysis" and "Positioning and Control Techniques" who wanted to offer their students the opportunity to carry out "in the field" an important activity for the control of the territory. For some years now, the Summer School has been taking place at the Belvedere Glacier (Macugnaga - VCO) and involves students in 3 different activities:
- Survey of about fifty points materialized on the glacier and on the moraines, for the purpose of calculating the glacier velocity
- Photogrammetric survey of the glacier with drone
- Laser scanner survey of the end of the west end of the Glacier
The last 2 days of the Summer School will be dedicated to data processing and analysis.

Il primo giorno (domenica 23 luglio) è dedicato a radunare i partecipanti, alla conoscenza del luogo e al trasporto in quota del materiale. I successivi 4 giorni saranno occupati in attività di rilevamento del Ghiacciaio con metodi geomatici (Fotogrammetria da drone, Rilevamenti GNSS, Scansioni Laser Scanner) e nella prima elaborazione degli stessi; il pernottamento è presso il Rifugio Zamboni- Zappa (Macugnaga, VCO). Infine l'ultimo giorno (venerdì 28 luglio), rientrati a Milano il pomeriggio del giorno precedente, c/o un'aula del Campus Leonardo a Milano verrà realizzata la presentazione dei risultati ottenuti.
