Description of the initiative

The proposed design experience was created to enhance the BAM Park by defining innovative ideas of welcoming places to be set up "outdoors", where the quality of the natural environment constitutes a characterizing design element, a natural theater where social relations between the inhabitants find a place and are consolidated.
In the 2024 edition, special attention will be given to vulnerable people, understood in the broadest sense of the term (including the elderly, disabled, children, as well as parents with young children), thus projecting a diverse set of identities in spaces designed to be appropriate and desirable. The project activity will be aimed at designing enabling projects that allow diversity and vulnerability to be empowered as an opportunity to experience the relationship with spaces in a full, dynamic, and stimulating way. Projects will refer to different thematic areas (e.g. Commons, Culture & Information, Ecology & Natural Resources, Wellbeing, ...) and will involve in their design, as stimuli and agents of inspiration, some of the most prestigious design firms participating in the Open Air Design event, including Artemide, Medit, Poliform, Eco Contract, Technomont Service and many others.
