Eligibility

A Bachelor Degree in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Engineering.

From academic year 2020-21 Laurea magistrale programmes under the School of Architecture accept students only in the first semester of the academic year (September intake)


Mission and goals

The operational areas addressed by this Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programme may be summarised in two skill profiles, gravitating around the economic-financial management (asset and property management) and technical-operational support services for the built-up environment management (facility management) areas. The objective of the programme is to transmit to the student knowledge and skills in building technology and construction, in production and management engineering, in law, in economics, in information technology and in land planning; to provide methods and tools to be used for technical-economic evaluation on purchase or on designing the requalification of buildings.


Subjects

Mandatory classes: Business Economics, Building Types and Real Estate Functions, Methods and Tools for Analysis of Urban and Territorial Systems, Regional Economics and Land Rent Theory, Administrative and Public Procurement Law, Economic Assessment of Urban Transformations.

Two curricula are available:

  • Technical maintenance and management: Durability and Maintenance, Safety Management in Building Projects Facility Management, Social Housing Estate and Management
  • Economic management: Valorisation of Historical Buildings, Project Management, Financial Management of Real Estate Transactions, Information Systems for the Maintenance and Management, Global Supply Chain Planning

Career opportunities

Potential employment contexts for graduates in Building Management are: property companies, banks, banking foundations, insurance companies and, in general, companies characterised by an extremely significant amount of property; companies and public bodies managing public and private property assets; facility management companies; property fund management companies; property consulting forms and engineering companies and professional studios.
