Subject: Social Innovation; Aging society; Home automation

SMARTA (Environmental Monitoring System with Wearable Telemonitoring and Sensor Network to Support Health, Prevention and Safety Services for Active Aging) is the innovative system of non-intrusive health monitoring for the over-65s who are still living in their home and are healthy or affected by multiple pathologies. Using a physical and environmental monitoring technology, SMARTA aims at helping people age actively. It focuses on keeping older people in good health (compatibly with their clinical conditions) by acting directly on lifestyle control in their home and by constantly stimulating them to have an active lifestyle (achieving their full potential). The project was the winner of the Smart Cities and Communities call for tenders and it is co-funded by the Lombardy Region.
