MSCA Doctoral Networks: polimi coordinates 6 funded projects

Excellent result for our university, out of the total of 20 projects financed and coordinated by Italian institutions


The European Commission has published the results of the European MSCA Doctoral Networks 2022 call, which funds international doctoral networks.

MSCA doctoral networks are formed by international partnerships made up of universities, research centres, industry and small and medium-sized enterprises. These networks aim to increase the attractiveness and excellence of education in Europe by providing researchers with the right mix of research and technology transfer skills and by improving career prospects in the academic and non-academic sectors through international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility, combined with an innovation-oriented approach.

Out of 946 proposals submitted for tender, the Commission will finance a total of 149 projects.

The result obtained by the Politecnico di Milano is excellent. Out of a total of 20 coordinated projects financed in Italy, 6 are by the Politecnico di Milano.

Here are the new funded projects:

  • BRIDGITISE Industrial Doctoral Network on Bridge Digitalised Integrity Management - Maria Giuseppina Limongelli (Dipartimento di Architettura, Ingegneria delle Costruzioni e Ambiente Costruito)
  • GAP Image-Guided computational and experimental Analysis of fractured Patients - Laura Maria Vergani (Dipartimento di Meccanica)
  • INSIDE-HEART MultI-discipliNary, multi-Sectoral and multi-national trainIng network on Digital biomarkErs for supraventricular arrHythmia charactErizAtion and Risk assessmenT - Valentina Corino (Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria)
  • NEXTSCREEN Training network for next-generation cellular screening - Andrea Bassi (Dipartimento di Fisica)
  • REBONE End-to-end multidisciplinary optimal design for improved personalized bioactive glass/ceramic bone substitute implants - Pasquale Vena (Dipartimento di Chimicia, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica "Giulio Natta")
  • RE-MAKE Refurbishment and additive manufacturing accomplished by kinetic deposition - Mario Guagliano (Dipartimento di Meccanica)

In 4 other funded projects, the Politecnico di Milano is a partner. They are: CoDesign4Transitions, METRAMAT, StoreAGE, Training42Phase.

The first Grant Agreements are expected to be signed by 15 July.
